Delightful Morris Minor Factory Convertible 1958
Here's your chance to grab yourself a barn fresh very original Triumph Roadster 2000 just out of hibernation.
The car has been dry stored for the last 7 years and quite possibly for a longer time before that. On close inspection we can see the car has a nice straight body with a good sound clean chassis so no problems there. Sometime in the past it has been fitted with a new stainless steel exhaust system, and other little items alert us to believing that light restoration/repair has been carried out by a previous owner before
The original pale green leather upholstery is all intact, but the drivers side of the bench seat is in need of some major surgery on the leather (unless your a dab hand with the old needle and thread) otherwise a cover would survice until a later date. Dicky seats are fitted in the boot but the spare wheel is missing. Walnut dashboard is in very good condition with all instruments intact, and the black rim steering wheel looks to have been restored and is in fine order. When moving the car around we particularly noticed how precise the steering was again a clue that work might well have been done in this area at some time previously.
The chrome on the car is very good especially on the front headlight shells/ plus a very straight radiator with good front bumpers. The rear bumper and step plates are with the car but not fitted. (a pair of working horns are available but not with the car) The hood frame is there but not fitted, and a well used vinyl soft top that requires new
rear window and fair bit of TLC that would go again in the right pair of hands
I have to confess that I just couldn't resist waking the old girl up after all these years. We connected a drip feed fuel supply- cleaned the plugs and points and I kid you not she burst into life second press of the starter button and sounded sweets as a nut with good oil pressure and all gears working. The clutch is stuck but thats an easy fix and we will advise the new owner of the procedure for freeing it off
There's no doubt the car has a great presence as it is and with a few weekends work could be driving around at club events carrying off the barn -find beauty look for the owner who doesn't want concours. Obviously we will leave that up to the new owner to decide which way they take it, but please if your no good with a spanner in your hand this car won't be for you.
Comes with a current V5c Registration Document and the Triumph Spares and Technical repair /hand book plus various old invoices.
