Triumph Roadster 9th Sept 1947 1800

As the classics car market has grown over the years it has fuelled the desire to have many examples of old cars looking just like they have come off the assembly line. However in a world of everything looking like new - its kind of refreshing sometimes to have a car that has not been pulled apart on some industrial estate, instead survived pretty much as the day it left the factory. But with so few largely original examples remaining now, in some cases they can command more than their so called restored counterparts

Such is this lovely original unrestored 1947 Triumph Roadster now 68years old. The V5c states that the car was purchased by Mr Mountain in 1947 passing on many years later to his daughter (with a covering letter in the folder) then another private owner to date. With just 57,000 miles on the speedo (51,000 in 1980). Showing all the signs of having been well cared for over the years, the all important ash frame is in fine condition along with the chassis and the car displays superb shut lines on the doors with the correct metal stop straps still in place

Original leather upholstery inside the car, front bench seat is starting to show its age but still remains serviceable. Nice little dicky seats in the boot, carpets have been replaced but some time ago so now look very in keeping with the rest. Dashboard has that just right sheen look, and both jager instruments are in fine looking order. Hood has been replaced in the past, fits well and still has the correct rear glass window fitted and chrome beading

Engine runs very sweet with recent new carburettor and displays a good oil pressure, new front brake hoses have been fitted along with four new tyres. We have just changed all oils and filter, plugs/points and fitted new battery

This is a very smart attractive example with good depth of shine to all of the bodywork as per photos show. Obviously there are the odd small paint defects ect that one would expect after all these years, but thats fine on such an original example all part of the cars age and charm. Car comes with all the tools attached to the bulkhead clips, original Triumph owners handbook, and a hood envelope cover in the boot. Debit/Credit/Cards/Taken. Delivery Service Available.
