Iconic Jaguar E-Type 1970 Series 11 4.2 2+2 Matching Numbers
Most classic cars fall in one of three categories, you have your fully restored nut and bolt please don't touch examples, then there's the good old fashion barn finds that everyone raves about " great if you have the time money and skill to do them. But the ones that are getting really hard to find now are those cars that were more in abundance in the 70s long 'before the boom years' just good solid well cared for examples that have been maintained and had money spent over the years in order that the owners cherished treasure is well protected.
And I'm pleased to say that is exactly what we have on offer here direct from the last owner of 21years
Purchased in and around 1995 as a good straight honest car with the usual jobs to do at a later stage. It was during 2001 that a full engine re-build was commissioned by a leading Jaguar specialist, " Invoices are in the files" and although it's now some time ago only around 7,000 miles have been clocked up since. With this work now completed the owner turned his attention to further bodywork rectification in the form of having new sills, door skins, and work around the rear tub all to a good standard. This was completed with a full professional re-spray to include all internal areas/ voids treated with wax protective coating as required. To complete the picture the rear quarter bumpers and hub caps were re-chromed and all other chrome work on the car is of a good standard and has remained that way today
The mots clearly show that the car has only been used very sparingly during the last ownership, but servicing and lubrication have continued and is supported by invoices from the owners local garage
During 2016 the decision was taken to have both front seats re-upholstered "purely due to ageing of the bolsters' and the car also now supports new black fitted carpets. But other than this the interior is in splendid condition and shows just the right level of patina for a car of this age.
The really good news with this car is that it' is a proper UK RHD example, "Heritage Cert' supplied new by Abbots of London to the first owner- and thankfully not had some horrendous webbasto roof fitted like so many examples have fallen victim to. She looks a real lulu of a darling in sunshine today and posed beautifully for the photos. The exhaust note lets you know it's alive and well, and the magic stays with you even when your not driving but just sitting behind the steering wheel peering down that endless bonnet. If your looking for a nice but not concours example this one should tick all the boxes and it's here and available now. DEBIT/CREDIT/CARDS TAKEN' (Deliver Service Available)
