JAGUAR XJ6 SER 1 4.2 1971 short wheel base! now sold (MORE WANTED) 1971

Extraordinary history accompanies this motorcar sold new to Sir J Maitland local Lincoln shire MP on the 6th May 1971, he subsequently keep the car for four years after which it was acquired by its second owner who only used the car for a brief time before putting it into dry storage where it remained untouched for the best part of 26 years. A tip off at a local car rally prompted a classic car restorer to view and purchase the Jaguar, as such it was found to be in such superb preserved condition it was decided that the car would be returned to its former glory. It was then striped completely and treated to a bare metal re-paint, all the original interior cleaned and carefully stored to be refitted with a new headlining. Engine removed dismantled and fully re-built with new carburetters and manual choke upgrade, re-con auto box,front and rear sub frames removed from the car all suspension fully rebuilt throughout. Braking system all new and upgraded to SER 2 spec, new exhaust system, fully re chromed with new tyres fitted all round. The car had covered 49,000 miles in the hands of its two owners before all this work was undertaken, with have all the service history books with the car including a Heritage Trace Certificate, good Ser 1 cars are getting hard to find now and in this condition almost impossible
